There are some days we just don't seem to stop! We end the day exhausted, even without exercising. Taking time out each day for a Gravity™ session will give you the energy to cope with the challenges that life throws at you. The daily routine of using computers, mobile phones and sitting for extended periods has led many of us to poor posture, neck pain, headaches and back pains. We are training ourselves away from a healthy posture. The GRAVITY™ system is the antidote to these habits. Used regularly, GRAVITY™ takes the body out of the slouched position that is associated with many health problems and retrains us to maintain a more upright posture. A better posture will relieve pain and associated tension throughout the whole Body.
It's hard to breath when your head is pushed forward and it's hard to relax when you're not breathing correctly. Gravity gently retrains your head and neck into the perfect position that will allow healthy spinal connection and reduce the tension we often experience through the day. Using Gravity places your head in the perfect position to promote gentle, easy breathing and deep relaxation. No meditation required, 20 minutes a day on Gravity is all you need!
There are some days we just don't seem to stop! Work, family, and just getting everything done takes up all our time and there aren't enough hours in the day. We end the day exhausted, even without exercising! Taking a short time out each day for a Gravity session will give you the energy to cope with the challenges that life throws at you.
Our head weighs on average over 12 lbs or 5 kg. It doesn't feel that heavy because our neck and upper back take all the strain. The muscles in the neck are constantly working very hard to keep our head up and it's not surprising that sometimes they hurt. Gravity creates a gentle yet extended hold between the neck and the head and draws the muscles in to a perfect alignment. This increases blood supply to the muscles and nerves and decreases the tension and pain that can often travel up into the head or across the shoulders. Regular use of Gravity promotes the posture that will decrease the incidence of neck and shoulder pain.
One of the biggest causes of days off is back pain, yet it is also poorly understood. Nearly all back pain is not coming from the spine itself, but from the muscles that support it. The head at the top creates huge tensions through these muscles and if the head is even slightly forward, these tensions increase enormously. Gravity takes the pressure off these back muscles and retrains the spinal structures into the perfect position, reducing pain and returning the spine to its optimum position.
The muscular system is a body-wide network allowing us to move freely and smoothly. If one area becomes more tense or overloaded, this will impact on other areas and create pain and tension that can become hard to pin down. The end result is often fatigue and pain in areas where there is no apparent injury. Gravity resets the body's muscular network by promoting a better postural position; improving blood supply to the nerves and muscles and more efficient oxygen uptake through better breathing.
Our digestive system is one long tube. Poor posture, slouching and lots of sitting, can create a sluggish and poorly functioning system. The use of the Gravity system opens up the whole body and helps to promote a more upright position, leading to a better and more efficient digestive process.
The human stress response is well documented as having serious long term effects on health. The immune system struggles to keep up with a stressed body and digestion, sleep and even the reproductive system are affected. The Gravity system takes your body in to a perfect position to promote a change in the nervous system to allow relaxation and normalise blood pressure, breathing and heart rate.
Over 90% of migraine sufferers report neck tension or pain before or during a migraine attack. Gravity gently opens up the neck and head and creates the perfect position to reduce tension and increase blood supply. With regular sessions less tension is present and many sufferers report a significant decrease in the rate and severity and duration of headache and migraines.
The idea for Gravity came about from its inventor Dr Shane Murnaghan after studying thousands of patients with back pain over the years. He saw that people who had back and/or neck pain seemed to hold themselves very still for a lot of the time, movements of the head and neck created more pain. After studying the structures of the spine extensively, he realised that the fibres of the lower and upper back were strongly connected. This is where Gravity comes in. Gravity aims to connect up these upper and lower stress loading areas of the body and create a gentle, nurturing tension and communication between the two.
